Our Pastor
In July 2008, Pastor Dustin Bergene became the 23rd Pastor in the 103 year history of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Pastor Bergene was born in 1981 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He lived in Sturgeon Bay all of his life. Pastor Bergene is the youngest of two boys in his family.
Pastor Bergene attended St. Peter's Lutheran Elementary School in Sturgeon Bay before attending Sturgeon Bay High School. To begin preparing for the ministry he attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, graduating in 2004. He then attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, during which he had a year of practical experience serving three congregations: St. Mark in Sutton, NE; First in Aurora, NE; and Christ in Grand Island, NE. Pastor Bergene graduated from the Seminary in May of 2008. Upon graduation Pastor Bergene was assigned to serve Trinity Lutheran Church in Abita Springs. 
Pastor Bergene married Dee Ann Schleicher on June 14, 2008. She grew up in Gering, Nebraska and attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. She earned her Masters from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. She taught for six years at Starr Elementary in Grand Island, Nebraska, and is presently teaching First Grade at Madisonville Elementary.  They have one daughter, Elizabeth.   
Pastor Bergene absolutely loves being the pastor at Trinity; there is nowhere else he'd rather be!
