Dear Friends, This year we have the priviledge of praising God for 50 years of mission work in Japan! God has blessed our work here in many ways. We are celebrating the anniversary here in Japan throughout the year, but one of the highlights is coming up next week. Next week we will have a special worship service involving all eight of our congregations. The worship service will take place at our Tsuchiura church (which is across the street from our house). The service will have national pastor, Pastor Haga, doing the liturgy in Japanese (although there will be some English direction) and former WELS president, Pastor Gurgel will be preaching the sermon in English (though there will be a Japanese translation available for the people here). The choir from the Tokyo congregation will be singing in English and Japanese. The reason that I mention this to all of you, is that you will be able to "join" us here in Japan for the service! Thanks to today's technology, we will be broadcasting the service live on the internet. The WELS Streams site will be hosting this broadcast. You can go here http://streams.wels.net/ to get the details. It will be taking place here in Japan on Saturday, Nov 3rd, which means that you will need to tune in Friday night, Nov. 2nd at 9 PM Central Time. You can tune in to hear what a Japanese worship service is like, to see our members here in Japan, to hear Pastor Gurgel's message and to join us in praising God for blessing the church here in Japan. If you have the time, please join us in our celebrations. We would love to share our joy with you around the world! Even if you can't join us next Friday night, please keep our churches here in your prayers. May God continue to bless the work of the kingdom throughout the world! Love, in Jesus, The Stahmanns
